Last Tuesday we had one of the smoothest Election Days that I’ve experienced in the 24 years that I’ve been in the Election Board Office. I would like to express my appreciation to the people that are responsible for it. I want to commend the voters of Roger Mills County for turning out and voting, we had a 74% turnout for the Presidential race, and for conducting themselves with civility and grace. We answered lots of phone calls and had a lot of voters in our office asking questions and everyone was polite and courteous. Even the people that we had to tell they had been deleted from the voter roles for inactivity (yes, if you don’t exercise your right to vote, you will eventually be deleted). I was pleasantly surprised, considering the political atmosphere lately.
