Around two weeks ago, a group of 12 people from Northeastern University, including myself visited Cheyenne to volunteer at the Washita Battlefield National Historic Site. We helped remove invasive species and clean up trash around the park. My time at the park showed me the absolute importance of preserving our natural parks. I witnessed firsthand the difference a group of volunteers could make, as even our week of service potentially saved the Rangers over a month of work (according to the Park Rangers themselves).
