Cheyenne Public Schools recently received the annual ACT notification of college readiness for its students. ACT prepares the report that presents a “Five-Year- Trends Average ACT Scores” data table as well as a report that gives data in regard to how Cheyenne students’ scores compared with state ACT test scores. Cheyenne students scored above the state average in all tested areas of the ACT: In College English Composition, Cheyenne students scored 80% with the state average at 61%; in College Algebra, Cheyenne students scored 60% with the state average at 32%; in College Social Science, Cheyenne students scored 60% with the state average at 45%; in College Biology, Cheyenne students scored 40% with the state average at 32%. In meeting all four tested areas set forth by the ACT benchmark testing, Cheyenne students scored 40% with the state average at 21%. When asked about the significance of this report Mrs. Whitney Moore, Cheyenne High School Principal stated, “This is a direct result of our teachers’ hard work and diligent teaching.”
