Roger Mills County and most of western Oklahoma was covered in a haze of smoke and had ash falling from the fires in the northwest part of the county and across the line into Texas. At Noon on Tuesday it was reported that nearly one million acres has burned in Oklahoma, Texas and Kansas. There was not a count on the number of livestock lost in the fire. There were also six deaths reported in Texas. Our firemen, county hands, and land owners have been out for hours trying to save land, livestock and homes.
