Huey Purvis Aymond, 77, of Cheyenne, OK, passed from this earth peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Sunday, March 25, 2018, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on April 27, 1940 in Vick, Louisiana to Louis and Avy (Beaubeauf) Aymond.One of seven surviving children, Mr. Aymond is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carol (Allinger) Aymond; his daughters, Rachel Thomas and April McCoy, both of Jonesboro, Arkansas; his grandson, Coty Mc- Coy of Jonesboro, Arkansas; his sister, Margaret Howard of Gulfport, Mississippi; his brother, James Aymond of Wisner, Louisiana; his sister, Aleane Sheridan of Houston, Texas; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Mr. Aymond was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Doris Lux and Wilma Whittington of Wisner, Louisiana and Hazel Bumpous of Austin, Texas.
Mr. Aymond was born and raised in Louisiana. He moved to Cheyenne in the 60s, seeking work in the oilfield. He met his wife Carol in Cheyenne and they married on December 23, 1967. Mr. Aymond moved his family to Louisiana, but returned to Cheyenne in 1977, where he remained for the rest of his life. He worked in the oilfield industry and as a truck driver until his retirement.
Mr. Aymond will be interred at the Cheyenne Cemetery.
