“The Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven.” Matt 16:1 Immediately after Jesus had just fed four thousand men (not counting women and children) with a meager amount of bread and fish the religious, self-serving Pharisees and Sadducees confronted Him asking for a sign from heaven. It appears that they were present when He fed the four thousand, which brings an interesting point to my mind. Hey, if you’re looking for a sign from heaven…..that would’ve been a good place to start. But the problem was obvious for the over religious, self-righteous, doctrinal police. They had already rejected Jesus as the Son of God and they did everything they could to discredit Him, but always to no avail. Jesus’ validation didn’t depend on the agreement of the Jewish religious leaders, even though they believed that it did.
