Part 187 One individual asked, “The Adventists say that the Ten Commandments are the perfect moral code. Is that right?” The Law of God in any age or time is perfect (James 1:25; Ps. 19:7). However, the Ten Commandments are a part of the Law of Moses; a law that Christ fulfilled and finished with His death, burial, and resurrection (Col. 2:14; Matt. 5:17,18). The Christian lives under the Law of Christ, rather than the Law of Moses (Rom. 7:4). God no longer requires His followers to sacrifice animals, pay tithes, honor the Sabbath, etc… The only laws of the Old Testament that are binding on Christians today are the laws repeated in the Law of Christ in the New Testament.
