Part 182 Someone recently asked me a question about translations of the Bible. Bible translations come in any variety imaginable; there is even a Queen James Version of the Bible, which is a ridiculous mockery of God’s message. The translation a person studies and reads can make the difference in their faith and salvation. The question was asked, “What is your opinion on the NIV (New International Version)? Would you recommend it?” Every dutiful believer in the Word of God, must understand that the original writings by the hand of the inspired writers were perfect and infallible, but since that time people have translated and copied the original autographs, which leaves room for human error. While the original writings were inspired, the translations and copies were not, so the Christian must consider the accuracy and consistency of the translation (Acts 17:11; 1 John 4:1).
