Part 160 I had a question of baptism, not long ago. The individual asked, “Why would a person need to be re-baptized? Isn’t once enough?” Being immersed into saving, water, baptism in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, for the remission of sins is always enough to save a person from damnation (1 Peter 3:21; Acts 22:16), but there exist examples in the Bible when a person or people where not baptized under the name of Christ, or rather under His teachings. To be baptized “in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins” (Acts 2:38) is to be baptized under the teachings of Christ, under the authority of His name and word.
