Reydon Rangers wagon train was attacked by a band of Indians as they were circled in a what field on the outskirts of Hammon. With the aid of the cowboys of the Elk City Riding Club they managed to escape with their scalps intact. There were a few of the train members who were sore from laughing so hard and some kids had sore throats from screaming so much and everyone’s ears were ringing from all the gun fire, but all in all, it was FUN. Eight wagons and two buggies drove from Cheyenne and several hauled horses down to take part in the parade and sham battle.
