Cheyenne School will present Christmas in Song in two programs. These ‘Cheyenne Stars’ will be preforming. Alexia Reynolds, Christi Martin, Ricky Wilson, Debbie Bonds, Billye Payne, Lenora Hooper, Dow Von Putman, Steven Rook, Jill Jarvis, Bruce Barber, Deborah Hubbard, Lindsey Freeman, Charles Gilliland, Bill Beaty and Beverly Fults. Cash Day winners were Tavie Sprowls, Betty Whitson, Mary Ann Helms & Margie Snell. R.L. Trammell, president of the Chamber of Commerce, presented Harley Blundell a check in the amount of $50 for bringing the first bale of cotton to the gin. Jim Fletcher and Ed Hixon bagged a 10-point buck in the northwest part of Roger Mills County. The deer weighed 155 dressed and approximately 205 pounds before being dressed. This is one of the largest deer to be killed in this county. Billy Burns killed two Link Cats north of Cheyenne on his land. One was a male and one a female. The male cat was estimated to weigh 50 pounds. Barbara Sumpter (Parman) has accepted employment at the Keep U Neat Beauty Shop in Cheyenne. Barbara formerly operated her own shop in Reydon. Spending Thanksgiving in the home of Mr. & Mrs. Jake Archer in Cheyenne were their son, Jodie, wife and children of Hammon. The grandchildren Brenda, Terry and Kerry also attended the Centennial Observance of the Battle of the Washita in Cheyenne with their grandparents.
