Cheyenne Superintendent Robert Trammell Explains Work Stoppage Robert TrammellBy Pat VerSteeg — This past Tuesday Cheyenne Superintendent Robert Trammell spoke to Kiwanis/ Senior Citizens about the possible teacher work stoppage. “We are at a crossroads in education in this state right now. While it is true we are last in teacher pay (of all 50 states), what is going on right now is not about teacher pay but, more importantly, the funding of education. The failure of our legislature to make the difficult decisions, for over a decade now, is having a disruptive impact in every facet of education; from teacher shortages, program cuts, large class sizes, and a brain drain of our best and brightest to other states. The teacher shortage has resulted in the approval of over 1800 emergency certificates in the state,” said Trammell.
