Theta Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma International met on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at the InterBank Community Room. Delta Kappa Gamma is a Society for key women educators and was founded on May 11, 1929 and was founded by twelve women educators in Austin, TX.

Theta Chapter hosted a reception for the essay winners, parents, guests and members to hear the students read their winning essays. Those reading essays were the 7th grade winners: 3rd place-Caden Schieber, 2nd place-Anna Shirey and 1st place-Rylie Bomhoff all from Okarche.The 8th grade winners were: 3rd place-Jaycee Taylor, Okarche, 2nd place-Sage Griswold, Okarche and 1st place- Haylee Pritchett, Watonga. Sage Griswold was unable to attend and the essay chairman, Charlene Heronema read her essay. Theta Chapter has had state seven winners since its inception 23 years ago. Beth Schieber, Past Oklahoma State DKG President, began the essay contest during her year of presidency from 1995-1997.
