CHEYENNE, Oklahoma: On May 4, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., Washita Battlefield National Historic Site will hold a special art workshop to represent the women’s culture within the Cheyenne Tribe. As a lead up program to commemorate the 150th anniversary of the release of the 53 Cheyenne women and children taken from the Washita, participants will make medallions. Medallions adorned tipis.
