By Pat VerSteeg — Kevin Mohr, Acting Superintendent of the Washita Historic Site, presented a very interesting program regarding the Federal Government Shutdown and the impact locally. Speaking this past week at Kiwanis/Senior Citizens, Mohr focused on how the government shutdown affects our local community in so many ways that we may not be aware of. “Federal employees lost two paychecks in this historic 35 day shutdown. And while many know that we will be reimbursed back pay, this still doesn’t erase the impact or damage caused to the local economy,” said Mohr.
