Today I want to write about one of Augusta’s paintings that we are showing in our spring display, The Good Ole Days. This painting is considered one of her best “memory paintings.” Augusta is sometimes best known in western art circles for her ability to paint pictures fifty years or earlier and have the scene just as it happened. Of course there were few around to dispute that, but those who at that time remembered said she was accurate.
